The 2015 Creative Writing Conference will take place Thursday, March 26, through Sunday, March 29. For questions, please contact John Casteen at [email protected].

Sweet Briar’s Creative Writing Conference is vibrant and energetic, focused on creating an environment where young writers can grow through one-on-one mentoring, peer-review, and access to the inspiring beauty of Sweet Briar’s 3,000-acre campus. The conference takes place on a long weekend in March, focusing on the craft and community of writing.

Short-term intensive residential conferences exist for high school students, graduate students and independent writers, but generally not for college students. This is an opportunity to take some time away from your ordinary routine to get deeply into your own work; it will also introduce you to some of the best undergraduate writers from colleges and universities all over the country, each chosen by faculty nominators. Our goal is to establish a community of writers unlike anything else you would find outside of an M.F.A. program.

Take a look at our 2015 schedule and stay tuned for updates on this year’s faculty.
