Hollins game, lacrosse centennial celebration rescheduled

Due to inclement weather, the March 19 home lacrosse game against Hollins University has been rescheduled for 5 p.m. Monday, March 31, at Babcock Field.  Centennial celebration events will be held as planned at the game.

Sweet Briar lacrosse turns 100 this year. The athletics department will officially mark the occasion when the Vixens host Hollins University at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, at Babcock Field. There will be tailgate festivities sponsored by the alumnae and annual giving offices, campus safety and the Vixen soccer team. Special T-shirts will be given out to fans while supplies last.

The winner of a contest held last month by the athletics department to design the official commemorative T-shirt artwork will be unveiled when the shirts are handed out. All Vixen alumnae, friends, fans and families are invited.

The centennial celebration will continue in April as the lacrosse program welcomes home former players for the annual alumnae game on Sunday, April 13.

On Saturday, April 12, the lacrosse team travels to Ashland to play Randolph-Macon College in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference match up. Alumnae also are invited to cheer on the Vixens in the conference game as well.

Fans who cannot attend the Hollins game and celebration on March 19 can watch the live stream. Check here the day of the game for the live stream link.
