Image, a quarterly publication which bills itself as a journal of art, faith and mystery, has named assistant professor of English and creative writing Dave Griffith artist of the month for August.
The journal calls Griffith, “a writer to watch — politically engaged and bitingly funny, but never shrill.”
Griffith is the author of “A Good War is Hard to Find: The Art of Violence in America,” which was praised by Time Out Chicago magazine as a “massively forceful piece of criticism.”
The book was written in the wake of the Abu Ghraib prison scandal and examines America’s love-hate relationship with violence.
