Sweet Briar graduate program to host open house

| July 29, 2015

Sweet Briar College’s graduate program in education will host an open house for prospective students Wednesday, Aug. 5, in the Wailes Lounge at the Elston Inn & Conference Center on campus. Information sessions are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. The College offers two graduate degrees, a Master of Arts in Teaching and Master of Education, through its co-educational program.

The MAT is designed for men and women with a bachelor’s degree who do not hold a teaching license in Virginia or any other state. The full-time program prepares candidates for licensure in one calendar year. The M.Ed. is available to men and women with at least three years of teaching experience. Classes meet afternoons, evenings and in the summer to accommodate practicing professionals already in the classroom.

During the information sessions, participants will meet the department chair and learn how they can earn a graduate degree or take specific graduate-level courses beginning this fall.
