Sweet Briar College values the enhanced educational experience living on campus provides for students to live and learn together. Students live and learn in a residential community designed to provide them with unmatched resources and opportunities. All traditional students are guaranteed campus housing all four years. Living on campus provides connections, support, faculty and staff interaction, and the development of meaningful and life-changing relationships.
The office of residence life at Sweet Briar creates and facilitates residential communities that engage students throughout their four years. Exciting programming, workshops, and activities in the residence halls couple with academic endeavors seamlessly and help make connections across campus. Resident Advisors and Resident Coordinators live in residence halls to provide academic and emotional support to residents. Over half of our faculty and staff live on campus in individual houses and apartments and are there to serve as resources, mentors, and friends.
Our seven traditional residence halls and modern apartment complex provide students with varied housing options (see residence halls for more information). Students from all classes are housed together to promote community and class bonding.
