Each residence hall has an upperclass student who serves the campus community as a resident advisor. Through extensive training and weekly in-services, the RA staff is ready to provide support to residents regarding homesickness, academic stress, anxiety, to render first aid, and to help make connections with campus resources.
RAs are "on call" each night to assist students with issues that might arise outside of normal business hours. The RA "on call" number is (434) 841-4419.
RAs are selected through an thorough application and recommendation process that occurs in the spring. Applications for the 2017-2018 academic year will be available in February 2017.
Head Resident Advisors
Head RAs are selected through an application process and serve for the entire year. Head RAs have extensive experience helping students make connections with campus resources and in developing original programming.
Sweet Briar College has three Resident Coordinators, who live in campus housing and serve as professional staff on call. Our Resident Coordinators have extensive experience at Sweet Briar and with college students, and are eager to serve as mentors and support for students.
Director of Residence Life
Kerri Bond is the Director of Residence Life. She lives on campus and has worked at Sweet Briar since 2011. She holds a master’s degree in higher education and student affairs. Kerri also serves as Sweet Briar's Title IX coordinator.
